Boasting 250 episodes and 6,000 unique monthly listens, Humans of Purpose has become the leading podcast championing Australia’s most impressive purpose-driven leaders.

Created by Melburnian Mike Davis (pictured) in 2017, Humans of Purpose has recorded over 250 hours with top politicians, Olympic gold medallists, best-selling authors, not-for-profit CEOs, and more.

On September 7th, Davis will release a rare interview with Australian academic Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert, who recently returned from two years of detention in an Iranian prison.

Dr Moore-Gilbert speaks with Davis about her experiences in Iran, her firsthand understanding of human rights in Iran and how nations can work towards strengthening human rights globally.

Davis’ thoughtful conversations with for-purpose leaders have earned him a faithful worldwide following and access to an enviable slew of talent.

Notable names include Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp, entrepreneur and three-time Olympic Gold Medallist Stephanie Rice OAM, HoMie founder Nick Pearce, executive director at Orygen and one of Australia’s foremost mental health experts Patrick McGorry, Royal Melbourne Hospital Neurologist Steve Davis, Single Use Ain’t Sexy CEO Josh Howard, and countless others.

Davis was also the first to conduct a podcast interview with the Governor of Victoria, Hon. Linda Dessau AC.

“I created Humans of Purpose because it’s the kind of podcast I wanted to listen to myself and nothing like it existed,” said Davis.

“I’ve intentionally set out to create a podcast that will not only entertain you, but also enable you to grow personally and professionally.”

To help foster a genuine connection, Davis hosts guests in his Elsternwick home – alongside his trusty four-legged sidekick Cyril – and offers a welcome drink of peated whisky or homebrewed matcha tea.

Davis’ rapport with guests ensures no topic is ever off the table, from mental health to homelessness, the dark web and biohacking. The podcast’s unflinching look at the big issues has helped earn it a 5-star rating from listeners.

Purpose drives everything Davis does. Humans of Purpose is created and produced outside of office hours, as Davis works full-time as a senior strategic advisor at Spark Strategy, advising senior leaders from across purpose-driven organisations.

The Humans of Purpose podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Acast and Stitcher.
