Gumtree Appoints G Squared To Drive Search

Digital consultancy G Squared has been appointed by leading online marketplace Gumtree to drive search and deliver improved customer experiences across the platform.

Gumtree appointed G Squared following a multi-agency competitive pitch, with the Sydney-based independent tasked with managing search engine optimisation through organic search, as well as identifying opportunities across key verticals to grow site traffic and conversions.

With more than six million unique users in Australia each month and 45,000 new listings everyday across key categories including home & garden, baby & children, sport & fitness, clothing & jewellery and jobs, Gumtree connects buyers and sellers in local communities across the country.

“Gumtree operates in a competitive marketplace, so ensuring our strong online presence is maintained is a priority for the business. We needed an agency that understands the diverse environment we operate in and G Squared demonstrated strong strategic thinking and executional capability that will deliver on our objectives,” said Tudor Stefanescu (lead image), digital performance lead at Gumtree.

“Gumtree is an Australian institution, and one which is used by one in four Australian internet users each month. They have big ambitions to cement their status as the destination for buyers and sellers and we’ll bring our experience and expertise to ensure their targets are met,” said George Photios, director at G Squared.
