Fuse Agency Launches Student Competition To Create Brand Mascot

Fuse Agency is giving students of creative design and illustration the opportunity to create a new hero character that will go on to become the brand mascot for Australia’s next big online accommodation booking company.

The team at Fuse is working with the new online booking company and, as the business has a heavy focus on a seamless user experience, Fuse devised a character that will accompany and guide users during the search and booking process.

“Although we’ve become really close to this character, and already have a name for him or her, we decided to give emerging artists and students of design and illustration the opportunity to create an identity for this Australian-owned company,” said Fuse Agency chief operating officer, Daniel Jess.

“We’re looking for a character that accurately represents the brand itself, as well as key elements of both travel in Australia, and a premium online experience.

“The student community is a primary demographic for our client, so we’re excited to see what young and emerging creatives will come up with.”

Not only will the winner get to see their character come to life as a core brand element of a national travel company, there are also a range of prizes and publicity opportunities up for grabs including a $400 preloaded VISA card, a $400 Eckersley’s voucher, and a design and marketing mentorship package.

The new online site, set to launch later this year, is a highly intuitive booking system that after identifying a customer’s tastes and travel requirements, will compare the best properties for the user, based on their personal preferences.
