Final Radio Ratings For The Year! How Did Everyone Do?

It’s the last instalment of GfK’s radio ratings for the metro stations before we sail into 2016, so here we’ve done a wrap up of how everyone did in survey eight.

Melbourne

How the networks (both AM and FM) did overall

Two AM stations topped the final survey for the year. Macquarie Radio’s 3AW came in first with an overall share of 13.4 per cent (although this was down 1.1 per cent from the survey prior). ABC774 was in second place with a share of 10.3 per cent. Southern Cross Austereo’s FOXFMHit1018 was in third position overall (and first for the FM stations) with a share of 9.7 per cent, up 9.4 per cent from survey seven.

Breakfast:

First: Macquarie Radio’s 3AW with Ross & John took out an easy win again, with a 19.8 per cent share. This was down 0.5 per cent from the survey before.

Second: ABC774 was in second place with a share of 13.7 per cent. This was up 0.9 per cent from the survey prior.

Third: Fifi & Dave for FOXFM HIT1019 (Southern Cross Austereo) joined the top three in brekkie with an increase of 1.3 per cent from the last survey. This survey the radio duo had a share of 9.2 per cent, up from 7.9 per cent.

Drive:

First: Hamish & Andy for FOXFM HIT1019 took out first place again with a share of 12.8 per cent. It’s a 0.2 per cent climb from the survey prior.

Second: Macquarie Radio’s 3AW drive show with Tom Elliot had a share of 9.5 per cent to come second, however this was a drop from 0.9 per cent.

Third: KIIS101.1FM (Australian Radio Network) jumped 1.6 per cent to grab the bronze. This survey’s share was 9.3 per cent. Last survey’s share was 7.7 per cent.

 

Sydney

How the networks (both AM and FM) did overall

Macquarie Radio’s 2GB finished first overall for the year, with a total share of 12.8 per cent. ABC702 was in second place with a share of 10.3 per cent. ARN’s KIIS1065 took third (and first for the FM stations) with a share of 8.9 per cent.

Breakfast:

First: Macquarie Radio’s 2GB with Alan Jones. This survey 15.2 per cent, up 1.4 from the survey before.

Second: ABC702 with a 11.7 per cent share. Down 0.3 per cent from the survey before which was 12.0 per cent.

Third: KIIS1065 with Kyle & Jackie O (Australian Radio Network). This survey saw an increase of 1.2 per cent for the duo. This survey’s share was 10.1 per cent. Last survey’s share was 8.9 per cent.

Drive:

First: ABC702 with a 10.9 per cent share, a drop of 1.3 per cent from survey seven.

Second: NOVA Entertainment’s NOVA969 with Kate, Tim & Marty. This survey the trio had a share of 9.5 per cent. This was a drop of 1.1 per cent from the survey before.

Third: KIIS1065 with Hughesy & Kate (ARN). It was an increase of 0.2 per cent that helped the duo maintain third place. This survey they had a 9.3 per cent share.

 

Brisbane

How the networks (both AM and FM) did overall

ARN’s 97.3FM station took out first place overall with a share of 13.5 per cent. In second place was NOVA Entertainment’s NOVA106.9 with a share of 12.7 per cent. And in a close third was ABC612 with a share of 12.6 per cent.

Breakfast:

First: ABC612 easily won the brekkie radio segment with a final survey share percentage of 17.2 per cent.

Second:  ARN’s 97.3FM with Robin, Terry & Bob had a share of 13.6 per cent, up 0.5 per cent.

Third: NOVA106.9 with Ash, Kip & Luttsy with a share of 11.9 per cent, up 1.2 per cent.

Drive:

First: NOVA106.9 with Kate, Tim & Marty. In the Brisbane market the trio had a rise of 1.2 per cent, to 14.5 per cent.

Second: ARN’s 97.3FM with Hughesy & Kate with 13.0 per cent, down 0.5 per cent from survey seven.

Third: SCA’s HIT105.3 with Hamish & Andy dropped 1.5 per cent, however still took out third with a share of 12.5 per cent.

 

Adelaide

How the networks (both AM and FM) did overall

ARN’s MIX102.3 came in first place in the last survey of the year among all the networks, with a total audience share of 13.0 per cent. ABC891 was in second place with 12.4 per cent. And third was hooked by NOVA91.9 with 11.2 per cent.

Breakfast:

First: Much like Brisbane, ABC891 easily had the top spot in brekkie radio with a share of 17.8 per cent, up a whopping 3.3 per cent from the survey before.

Second: Just squeezing into second was FIVAaa with a share of 12.8 per cent, up 0.2 per cent from the survey before.

Third: ARN’s MIX102.3 with Jodie & Soda came in third, a drop from tied first position since the last survey. The duo decreased 1.8 per cent from survey seven, down to 12.7 per cent in the final survey for the year.

Drive:

First: NOVA Entertainment’s NOVA91.9 with Kate, Tim & Marty had the top slot in the drive scene with a share of 13.3 per cent. This was up 1.0 per cent from survey seven.

Second: ARN’s MIX102.3 with Hughesy & Kate took out silver with a share of 12. 5 per cent.

Third: HIT107 with Hamish & Andy was in third with a share of 11.7 per cent, unchanged from the survey prior.

 

Perth

How the networks (both AM and FM) did overall

SCA’s MIX94.5 station in Perth won the overall share in the final survey for the year, with a 15.0 per cent share. In second place was NOVA Entertainment’s NOVA93.7 with a share of 12.0 per cent. Third place was Triple J with an 11.3 per cent share.

Breakfast:

First: Again, ABC’s 720 program won brekkie radio in the final survey, with a 15.0 per cent share, up 2.2 per cent from the survey before.

Second: NOVA93.7 with Nathan, Nat & Shaun had a share of 13.6 per cent, a drop of 0.4 per cent but enough to take out second.

Third: SCA’s MIX94.5 with Clairsy, Shane & Kymba had a share of 12.5 per cent, a drop of 0.5 per cent.

Drive:

First: NOVA93.7 with national team Kate, Tim & Marty with a share of 14.9 per cent. While the trio took out first in drive, it was down 0.5 per cent from survey seven.

Second: SCA’s MIX94.5 with Lisa & Pete had a share of 14. 1 per cent, down 0.9 per cent.

Third: Triple J with a share of 12.3 per cent, up 0.4 per cent from the survey before.
