Former ALF player and commentator of The Footy Show, Sam Newman, has put Fairfax footy jounro Caroline Wilson on blast saying she’s becoming an “embarrassment”.
His tirade on Wednesday night’s program came from the wide coverage of a comment Triple M broadcaster Eddie McGuire made about Wilson, saying he’d pay to see her stay underwater. The comments were made during a charity day over the June long weekend, and while McGuire and Triple M have subsequently apologised for the remarks, McGuire was labelled a pig and Wilson had her own go at him in the following days.
And now Newman is sick of the whole thing, using The Footy show as a platform to declare Wilson an “embarrassment” and that if she stayed underwater “she would still be talking”.
“The jig is up Caro, honestly and truly. You’ve become an embarrassment. Even if you were underwater, you’d still be talking”. Watch the full video here.
He said don’t campaign for equality the complain when it’s too equal.
Many in the Twitter sphere were astonished by Newman’s comments, with popular personalities bewildered.
