Comic God Will Ferrell Savages Our Mobile Phone Addiction In Wonderfully Black Campaign

We may all be addicted to our smartphones – to many marketers’ delight – however, it’s destroying good old-fashioned family time, or so says a new and wonderfully black campaign featuring mega comic, Will Ferrell.

The ads, titled #DeviceFreeDinner, are for a US non-for profit group called Common Sense Media and suggest our phone addictions are having a big impact on family dinner time.

The work of creative agency, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the series of ads are based on research by Common Sense Media that found American families are increasingly addicted to technology. The study found 95 per cent of families with small children have a smartphone in the house while 72 per cent have a subscription to an SVOD like Hulu or Netflix.
