Clems Melbourne beats NASA to SXSW award

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s Remote Control Tourist campaign has beaten out formidable competition to take out an award in the 2014 SXSW Interactive Awards.

Remote Control Tourist was crowned under the Technical Achievement category which was created to recognise projects “reinventing and redefining the technical parameters of our digital experience”.

The campaign put tourists on the streets of Melbourne armed with bikes and live streaming cameras who could be sent to different destinations around the city via the stream’s viewers.

The antics of the four real-life tourists went global as it reached every continent except Antarctica, engaged people from more than 122 countries and 1,823 cities.

Remote Control Tourist beat a submission from NASA to take home the prize. To look at all the finalists click here.
