News Corp Australia has announced the appointment of Charlie Murdoch as its new head of trade marketing.
Murdoch joins News Corp from NewsMediaWorks, where worked as its marketing director for almost five years. Prior to that, Murdoch held marketing roles at oOh!media, EYE Corp Media and Austereo.
His appointment Charlie’s appointment comes amid a wider restructure of News Corp’s group marketing function, with trade marketing now under the umbrella of national sales managing director Lou Barrett.

Commenting on Murdoch’s departure from NewsMediaWorks, CEO Peter Miller said News Corp has made a “savvy” appointment.
“He has led the corporate comms and marketing for news media for five volatile years, demonstrating a sound understanding of the narrative,” Miller said.
“He leaves us at a time of increasing buoyancy in news media as advertisers come back to print and premium digital, and the big news media houses innovate at pace to create new revenue opportunities.”
