The appointment comes as the Sydney scale-up announces its remarkable growth within a year of public launch, having delivered over 1000 cars and achieved an annual revenue run-rate of over $50 million. Carma will continue to build brand awareness in the greater Sydney region and around the country under Meier-Murren’s direction.

Meier-Murren said, “I’m thrilled to be joining the Carma team and excited to showcase the company’s amazing work at a time when we are poised to scale. For most of us, buying a car is one of the biggest purchases we will make, so helping Aussies see the benefits of making a car purchase online, and earning their trust, is a clear opportunity for the brand. Carma has an incredible product that solves a real problem for Australians and there’s a significant space within the used-car industry that Carma can claim.”

Meier-Murren joins Carma from Domain, where she headed the property marketplace’s consumer marketing strategy, and played a key role in scaling the digital business during a time of rapid transformation and growth, business acquisitions, and its listing on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Yosuke Hall, co-founder and CCO at Carma said: “Emily brings impressive expertise in building marketing strategies for high-growth digital brands. We’re delighted to welcome her to the Carma team and look forward to her strategic direction as we work towards our goal of being the trusted leader in Australia’s used car market.”

Meier-Murren holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources Management from the University of Kent. Prior to her role at Domain, Emily was Brand Manager at Open Colleges and Marketing Communications Manager at the University of Sydney.
