Singing Vagina Ad Enrages Conservative Christian Group

Singing Vagina Ad Enrages Conservative Christian Group

If there’s one client brief most agencies don’t particularly want across their desks it’s possibly vaginal thrush (or haemorrhoids).

So, it’s hats off to the US creative agency that came up with a clever spot for yeast infection treatment FemiClear.

The spot, delightfully called “Joie de hooha”, features young women doing yoga whose vaginas appear to sing following their relief from thrush. Check out the spot below:

But it appears not everybody’s happy with an itch-free fanny with news that US Christian group One Million Moms has called for a boycott of FemiClear following the release of the ad.

Apparently, the group’s unhappy the TVC’s being played in primetime, potentially exposing children to musical labias.

An online petition on the One Million Moms website has so far garnered 9028 signatures to have the ad pulled.

In a statement, the group claims the ad shows singing from “the private parts of the woman who used FemiClear” and the “camera zooms in for close-up shots of her crotch to confirm that the singing is definitely coming from between her legs”.

The statement added: “This vile commercial is airing during prime time when children are likely watching television. When this type of commercial airs too early in the evening, family viewing time is ruined. Can you imagine what goes through the mind of a child when he sees this ad?

“FemiClear chose to air this commercial, knowing it would be controversial. We all know children repeat what they hear. There is nothing funny about kids saying ‘joie de hooha!’ FemiClear should be ashamed!

“FemiClear may push away customers if it continues advertising in a repulsive manner that offends parents. FemiClear needs to know that parents do not approve of its advertising tactic!”
