Call For Nominations As Verizon Media Academy Returns For 2021

Verizon Media has today opened nominations to its industry-leading talent program, Verizon Media Academy.

The expanded program returns for its third year, providing the next generation of industry leaders with new opportunities to build their personal brand, accelerate their careers and build their personal resilience and adaptability.

The Verizon Media Academy program will be held over a two-month period with the Class of 2021 set to undertake a virtual masterclass series, exclusive industry benefits, mentoring and valuable networking opportunities. It culminates with a virtual pitch-off that will see the top team take home the highly coveted prize consisting of an exclusive executive wellness retreat, plus one year of executive coaching.

As in 2020, Verizon Media will once again open up the extremely popular online masterclass section of the program to the entire industry in the spirit of inclusivity, with a 2021 lineup of inspiring global speakers set to focus on important topics such as entrepreneurship, building empathy, thriving in the future of work and personal brand building.

Nominations are now open across Australia and New Zealand with senior agency leaders asked to nominate up-and-coming talent they consider to be in the top five per cent of their organisation, with one to seven years of industry experience. This year, the option to self-nominate is available with endorsement required from a senior leader.

Successful applicants will be notified on Tuesday, March 10th, 2021.

Paul Sigaloff, managing director ANZ at Verizon Media, commented on the return of the program: “We’re very excited to bring Verizon Media Academy back for another year. It’s so important to be giving back to the industry and supporting young talent, especially following such a tumultuous year.

“As we evolve our working practices there’s a number of new skills needed to thrive in the workplace. That’s why this year we’ve built a bigger program that features top experts from around the world who will be focusing their lessons on building personal brand with emotional intelligence, being entrepreneurial for good and unleashing creativity.

“Last year, we received an incredible response from the community when we opened up the masterclasses to the wider industry. This year we’ll be doing the same as now more than ever it’s important to band together, share knowledge and support the people in our industry.

“I look forward to celebrating our industry’s rising talent and encourage senior leaders to get involved and nominate.”
