Burger King Enlist Regular Punter ‘Jim’ For New Chicken Ad

Burger King in the UK have enlisted a competition winner to star in its latest ad to promote its new Crispy Chicken burger.

Regular punter “Jim from Wanstead (in East London)” won an online competition that not only saw him net a cool £20,000 ($A37,000), but also snared him a starring role in the burger chain’s next ad.

The work of its new UK creative agency BBH, the ad intersperses American-skewed fast food cliches with Jim’s honest London patois.

Commenting on the spot, Ian Heartfield, CCO at BBH London, said: “We were in the lap of the gods as to who would come forward to try BK’s new chicken burger. Luckily for us the competition delivered us Jim from Wanstead. His soundbites are worth the £20,000 prize alone.”
