Quickflix ‘Zombie’ hoard invade Sydney CBD

Online movie company Quickflix has launched its new 'Get Your Zombie Fix' season of films and TV shows with a bang by invading Sydney's Martin Place with a hoard of zombies during rush hour (see TVC below!).

The ‘undead hoard’ – created with help from one of Australia’s top special effects artist – scared commuters as they joined in everyday activities such as queuing for coffee, hailing cabs or reading the papers.

Zombies have long been a favourite of Quickflix members, with a total of 100,000 zombie titles dispatched since the company was founded in 2003. The most demanded title is 2009’s Zombieland, while 10% of Quickflix’s customer base have watched a zombie title in the last month.

Simon Miraudo, Quickflix’s resident movie expert, said: “Zombie films have always been popular, but in the last few years they’ve seen a huge resurgence helped by comic classics like Shuan of the Dead, and  more recent TV series like The Walking Dead. This festival is all about celebrating the place of zombies in today’s popular culture, as well having loads of fun along the way.”
