Mobile location specialists Blis last night kicked off the Queen’s birthday long weekend early with a disco-themed agency bash.

Transforming Simmer on the Bay at Dawes Point in Sydney into a living shrine to Studio 54, Blis marked the 40th anniversary of the release of Saturday Night Fever (which we’re assured was timed to enliven another important event, the Queen’s 1977 Silver Jubilee) in sequinned splendour, theming its agency bash around the year disco took the world by storm.

Legendary Sydney drag queen Maxi Shields took on royal duties for the evening, greeting (and mildly insulting) guests at the door, and DJ Stephen Ferris brought his original vinyl along to enliven the disco-lit dance floor.

Guests from media agencies Ansible, Foundation, Ikon, IPG, M2M, OMD and PHD donned their finest polyester for an evening of #Blisco. See for yourself in the photo gallery above.

Legendary 70s beats continued into the early hours of Friday morning. B&T expects the smell of bacon and egg rolls at to hang heavy at agencies across Surry Hills and Pyrmont today.
