Aussie Subscription Service Nightlife Lands Content Partnership With Jukin Media

Australian content subscription service Media Nightlife Music has secured a licensing partnership with Los Angeles based digital entertainment company, Jukin Media.

It’s the first licensing deal of its kind in Australia for the user-generated video giant, which owns and operates social video brands like People Are Awesome, FailArmy and The Pet Collective, which combine for 190 million followers and nearly a billion monthly video views.

Head of content Matt Lymbury said the deal will boost Nightlife’s premium entertainment content across its 10,000 strong screen network of pubs, clubs, fitness and leisure venues.

“Nightlife has one of the most compelling music video catalogues in the world, but with the immense popularity of viral videos globally we are constantly looking for highly engaging content, which is valued by our clients,” Lymbury said. “

Access to Jukin’s remarkable short-form content and its expertise in aggregating the world’s best amateur videos is a superb arrangement and further fuels Nightlife’s expansion into screen management.

Junkin Media senior VP and head of licensing Brendon Mulvihill said: “We also value working with companies that protect the rights of the content creators, as Jukin does.

“This is the first digital out-of-home deal that will see content from our brands distributed on screens in venues throughout Australia.

“The Jukin brands get massive viewership and engagement on all screens from social media to connected TVs – displaying Jukin content is a terrific way for Nightlife’s venues to ensure viewers stay engaged, entertained and locked on to screens.”

Lymbury said access to the extensive pool of Jukin content will ensure ample crowd-pleasing content across Nightlife’s diverse client base.

“The Pet Collective is nonstop cute animals and pets and will play well across all age groups but especially in our youth content pool, scheduled in theme parks, bowling and trampoline centres and other family-friendly environments.

“We anticipate the FailArmy channel will be enormously popular in pubs, with hilarious clips of stacks and falls very similar to the funniest home video shows of the past. ‘While the People are Awesome clips of amazing human feats of skill and sometimes luck may well be the most favoured, curated to match a diverse client base hungry for such highly engaging content.”
