dmg media has announced that Australian Sean Walsh has been appointed global chief brand officer and managing director of US Operations.
In this dual role, Walsh will oversee all global communications for dmg media brands, including Mail Newspapers, MailOnline and DailyMail.com, as well as taking on additional responsibility for the day-to-day running of the US operation.
He will be based in New York, but will also work across dmg media’s offices in London, Los Angeles and Sydney, Australia.
Walsh joined DailyMail.com as director of communications and media relations in 2014, he was promoted to chief brand officer in 2019. Prior to that he held senior communications roles at Nine, Wesfarmers and General Electric in Australia.
He began his career as a journalist. Initially as a researcher for the Seven Network in Australia and then a producer for the Nine Network Australia and ABC News in the United States.
On his new appointment, Walsh said: ‘dmg media is the home of the world’s most iconic media brands that continually set the global news agenda. It’s a privilege and an honor to undertake this exciting new role, working alongside our talented teams as we deliver the latest news to our readers across the globe.’
