Former television host Andrew O’Keefe has been granted bail, after being denied several times.
ABC has reported Justice Robert Hulme has granted O’Keefe bail but under the conditions that O’Keefe must check into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre. The rehab centre is located in North Sydney, so not a big trip for the former quiz master.
Previously, O’Keefe was denied bail because he continually kept interrupting the Judge. However, O’Keefe was polite and courteous in this hearing and therefore granted bail.
O’Keefe has pleaded not guilty to an array of charges over an alleged assault of a woman that took place in Sydney’s CBD.
The Judge ruled that O’Keefe needs to be treated for, their “significant descent into an erratic and chaotic lifestyle.”
O’Keefe’s bail conditions are fairly strict, he must finish his rehab stint, have no contact with the alleged victim and cannot partake in illegal drugs or alcohol.
Basically, he needs to stay on the straight and narrow and concentrate on his recovery.
