“AMP Capital and oOh! Media launch innovative partnership

AMP Capital have partnered exclusively with Australia’s leading outdoor media provider, oOh! Media, to manage the advertising space within Macquarie Centre, which is currently being redeveloped. Announced at an intimate event last night at AMP Tower, the unique deal will include access to an Australian-first, an innovative new digital roof panel that will revolutionise in-centre advertising.

The Macquarie Centre deal presents AMP Capital Shopping Centres (AMPCSC) with access to oOh! Media’s nationwide network of advertisers and extensive media buying power. AMP Capital will be able to reach a much wider audience and engage with customers who may have otherwise been out of reach.

The deal will commence in July 2014, when the first stage of the $440 million redevelopment of Macquarie Centre is revealed to the public. This stage will see the fresh food precinct open an expansive offering of more than 30 specialty food and grocery retailers alongside Woolworths, Coles and ALDI.

As part of the deal, oOh! will have exclusive access to all the in-centre ad spaces, while also managing the exterior digital signage and the state-of-the-art digital screen that will give the centre an eye-catching and engaging edge that will be very striking for shoppers.

The 30 metre curved screen panel, custom produced for the space, uses unique digital formats to transform the environment and is a bespoke design from creative technology agency, Spinifex Group.

AMP Capital Managing Director Shopping Centres Bryan Hynes said: “We are extremely excited about our partnership with oOh! as it will allow us to reach a much larger audience and take advantage of their media buying power.

“Our goal across all our centres is to create places that are engaging for visitors and of value to the community, and this new technology will certainly help us meet that goal with custom produced content and artistic, ever-changing visuals.”

Brendon Cook, CEO, oOh! Media, added: “We have long enjoyed a positive relationship with AMP Capital Shopping Centres where together we have continued to grow and evolve shopping centre assets that engage shoppers on the path to purchase, in an environment where they are open to engage with brands. We look forward to further opportunities to evolve retail out-of-home with the exciting developments at the new Macquarie Centre.

“This deal further cements our position as Australia’s largest retail and digital out-of-home advertising media company in the country.”

Macquarie Centre is currently undergoing a $440 million redevelopment to become a world-class fashion destination that will feature a fresh food marketplace, a premier café and dining precinct and a two floor fashion galleria. The second and final stage of the redevelopment is due to be complete in October this year.”
