Independent communications agency, Alt/Shift has today announced its expansion into Queensland, marking the agency’s third Australian office.

The expansion follows significant growth across both Sydney and Melbourne offices in 2021.

The agency also welcomes Cassie Dellit who joins the team as senior account director and account manager, while Kate Healy joins from Red Havas and The Red Republic respectively.

The appointments bring the national team count to 43 across Melbourne, Sydney and now Brisbane.

Alt/Shift has also been appointed by Metricon Homes to be their national agency partner following a competitive pitch, with the Brisbane team delivering the Queensland strategies.

“Alt/Shift’s unique and fresh creative ideas, underpinned by solid strategic thinking, really set them apart from the pack,” said Metricon Homes national corporate communications and engagement manager, Katie James.

“They were our partner agency back in 2016 when the agency first launched and we’re thrilled to be working with them again in a greater capacity to support our company’s growing national requirements.”

National managing director, Elly Hewitt (main photo), added, “Following our toughest year in 2020, was an unexpected and very welcomed recovery in 2021 and I’m thrilled to be opening our Brisbane office. Cassie and Kate will be working across our national clients who require Queensland support as well as servicing local clients.”

“We have delivered campaigns in Queensland since we launched in 2016, and have always had aspirations to open an office in the sunshine state. Brisbane is a truly international city and we can’t wait to further explore the opportunities in Brisbane and Queensland more broadly.”

Alt/Shift has welcomed 10 new team members in the past six months including Omar Al Jabi joining the creative services team as a senior creative from Vice, and Brodie Beel, account director joining from Decjuba.

There has also been a raft of promotions with JJ McPherson promoted to group account director, Sophie Truter and Alycia Jack now account directors, and both Charlie Kaplan and Joey Gan to account managers.

“Appointments of Genevieve O’Shea, Producer, Damian Davitt as Social Media Manager, David Ye, Performance Media Manager has really grown our in-house, end to end content offering,” said Hewitt.

“We’re thrilled to be offering clients, existing and new, our 360 approach to content – from conceptualising to creating and then placing, our team is well versed with creating content campaigns that deliver for our clients.”

Following Alt/Shift’s appointment on the Officeworks account earlier this year, the agency has also delivered retainer and project campaigns for brands including REA Group, Cashrewards, Slendier, TAC, Department of Education, Smiling Mind, Cleanaway and Mazda amongst others.
