All things were teeny tiny in Airbnb’s global ad campaign that rolled out late November, ‘Welcome to Airbnb’.
A mini trainset took viewers in a trip through miniature versions of actual listings on the site. Mini houses, mini people, mini everything, and accommodation site has also released a video showing the making of all the adorable wee bits and bobs involved in the ad.
The ad was created by TBWA Singapore and New Zealand-based animation company Cirkus.
“The film was shot through a small camera mounted on the model train in a single, 60-second take. All external movements are mechanical, not animated or done in post-production,” said Airbnb on its YouTube channel.
“It was a well-orchestrated effort to ensure that the 9 people who did several jobs at once were able to either fold things up before, or tilt things over and rotate things to ensure the one perfect take.”
This was the finished product that rolled out globally.
