British Bank Brilliantly Reboots The Wizard Of Oz For Clever Home Loans Campaign

British Bank Brilliantly Reboots The Wizard Of Oz For Clever Home Loans Campaign

UK bank Halifax has seamlessly transported “Greg the mortgage adviser” into the classic film The Wizard of Oz in a wonderful new campaign.

The clever ad’s the work of famed London agency Adam&Eve/DDB and uses original imagery of Dorothy, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man’s arrival at Emerald City. Yet, rather than meet the Great Oz, Greg tells them “if it’s the home of your dreams you’re after, maybe I can help”.

The new scenes were shot in a London studio and then superimposed onto the original film in post-production. It’s not clear how much Halifax paid to use the rights to the original film.

Check out the fun spot below:

Commenting on the campaign, Katherine Kehoe, Halifax’s managing director for brands and marketing, said: “What better place to showcase Halifax’s expertise and heritage in helping the nation’s homebuyers than the Emerald City.

“The twist this time is that our friendly colleague Greg ‘appears’ alongside Dorothy and her friends in the land of Oz, demonstrating how we give extra to our customers every day.”
