Agency Veteran Launches Talent Consultancy

Talent consultancy Hidden Talent has just launched to cater to the changing nature of clients’ needs, as well as the static nature of recruitment models.

As the name implies, Hidden Talent focuses on constantly sourcing candidates in the market, including those who are not actively looking, allowing partner agencies to connect with talent they may not otherwise find.

The consultancy was founded by Nicola Smith (pictured above), who has worked in creative agencies for 20 years, including Hourigan International for five years.

“I’ve intentionally set out to do things differently. Hidden Talent delivers brilliant talent to agencies, without the barriers of traditional recruiters,” she said.

“We provide agency partners with a continual stream of talent that they can tap into, with no placement fees. Agency partners pay a monthly retainer to be introduced with leading talent, with no strings attached.

“Coming from creative agencies myself, I understand how hard it can be to find and retain great talent. So, I want to support both agencies and candidates.

“I think candidates are the lifeblood and future of the industry. Around one quarter of those I meet are saying that they are looking to leave the industry, which is a really sobering thought.

“Great talent needs to be nurtured and they are wanting more appreciation, flexibility and work life balance. So, I would encourage all agencies to really focus on developing a culture in which people can thrive, not burn out.

“My approach is deliberately not digital, this is a people business and my candidates are much more than an algorithm or a digital profile.”
