Santa goes green

Santa goes green

This Christmas, Santa is going through a complete body transformation, slimming down and changing up his cusine to become fit and healthy.

Most people would know Santa as a jolly, fat man with his gloriously large belly bulging happily over his belt, jiggling as he laughs.

However, some folklore depict a slim Santa decked out in a luscious green suit, and it's this suit that he aims to fit into by Christmas.

The red Santa is often attributed to Coca-Cola and the success of their 1930s campaign as well as many other commercialisations, but SodaStream wants to get Santa back to his old lean and green self in time for Christmas.

The campaign will see Santa swapping unhealthy foods for healthy alternatives such as switching from packaged soda to homemade soda, a better way for you to enjoy carbonated drinks.

He'll learn how to choose healthy and nutrious food and begin an exercise regime to showcase how you don't have to let healthy eating fly out the window over Christmas, you can indulge and still keep your figure.

"While Christmas is a time of indulgence, through Santa's journey we want to show consumers that they can enjoy the holidays and indulge, while still following a healthy lifestyle," Ilan Nacasch, the CMO of SodaStream said.

"By using SodaStream, families can enjoy soft drinks with no high fructose corn syrup and up to two thirds less sugar and calories than that of pre-packaged alternatives. It’s a great way to help them kick start their health and fitness regime for the New Year."

Santa's transformation journey will be documented through SodaStream's social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest where you can use the hashtag #GreenSanta to get behind Santa's journey.
