Anh Doh fronts IGA Xmas ads

Comedian and author Anh Doh is taking on Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal as he fronts IGA’s 2013 Christmas advertising blitz.

Anh Doh can be seen riding a red scooter, complete with sidecar, around Australia to encourage shoppers to “save time, shop local”.

IGA has pitted the comedian up against international culinary heavyweights Oliver and Blumenthal who are fronting festive pushes for Woolworths and Coles respectively.

Michele Teague, general manager of marketing, metcash food and grocery, said: “Anh is one of the most loved people in Australia – he has an authentic humour and charm that people really respond to.  As such he truly represents the values of the independent Australian retailers that make up the IGA network.”

“We know that consumers are increasingly becoming disenchanted with chain stores and the move to shopping local is gaining momentum.  Our customers understand that our stores proudly cater to their local communities, stocking their favourite brands and funding the local community through the Community Chest programme, which has raised over $68 million in the last 10 years.”

IGA is again supporting the Vinnies Christmas Appeal with customers now able to donate via the IGA Christmas online hub which includes localised content and Christmas recipes.
