"Adshel, Australia’s leading provider of outdoor advertiser solutions, today unveils the nation’s first scalable outdoor digital advertising network.
The result of Adshel winning the lion’s share of the Sydney Trains advertising tender, the brand new 186-screen digital display and interactive network spans 14 CBD and inner- suburb Sydney Train stations including Wynyard, Town Hall, Martin Place, Bondi Junction and Central. Today’s launch represents nearly half the network being successfully switched on, with even more exciting developments including interactive large format screens coming in the next few months.
A true game-changer in Australian advertising, Adshel’s Sydney Trains digital network will allow advertisers to engage passengers with interactive digital content on over 1.4 million commuter journeys made each day for the very first time.
The new digital panels will offer media-first opportunities for advertisers to unleash their creativity with full motion video and augmented reality options alongside touch, gesture and mobile interaction. Campaigns will have the ability to engage through unique flexibility in scheduling, responding to day of the week, time of day and even topical triggers such as weather or news and sporting headlines.
At launch, the network will partner with Australian Radio Network (ARN) to ‘takeover’ Town Hall Station, promoting their market-leading Sydney radio station KIIS 1065, headlined by Sydney’s number 1 breakfast team Kyle & Jackie O. Complete with immersive wall and floor decals, the KIIS 1065 campaign will sit alongside campaigns from AHM, Air Asia, Oz Lotteries, HSBC, Channel 7 and Samsung.
Adshel’s CEO Rob Atkinson said officially launching the Sydney Trains digital significantly boosted Australia’s largest outdoor advertising network.
“Technology is changing outdoor in the same way it has changed all advertising, opening up new possibilities in two-way communication, and engagement,” he said.
“At Adshel we are pleased to be at the front of this curve, with what we see as most exciting and dynamic formats in the out-of-home advertising industry today.
“This technology has transformed the world’s oldest and most successful advertising mediums into one of today’s most exciting marketing vehicles. This network will offer advertisers new opportunities to deliver engaging real-time messages to either individuals or larger groups.
“This is one of the most significant commercial launches for Adshel in many years. We are delighted to be working with some of the world’s largest and most innovative brands to revolutionise out-of-home advertising in Sydney,” he added.
Anthony Xydis, ARN’s National Marketing Director, said the company was thrilled to be a launch partner of such an exciting commercial project.
“ARN’s brands entertain and influence audiences across Sydney every day. By tapping into this new network we are able to deliver an added level of engagement at critical times throughout the day including the peaks of the morning and afternoon commute”, he said.
“ARN has invested heavily in creative development for the first of our campaigns to fully utilise the digital capabilities of the new network, using full motion video, social media feeds and animated creative, offering consumers a more engaging, interactive and entertaining advertising experience. This will include updates on key celebrities due to appear on the Kyle & Jackie O show and a regular feed of the “O News” he added.
“Partnering with Adshel on this launch is a great way for us to continue to share the excitement about Sydney’s favourite radio station,” he concluded. "
