Perrin's new direction leads to Starcom

Initiative Sydney’s managing director Annick Perrin is set to take on the same role with rival media agency Starcom two months after she announced plans to take her career in a ‘new direction’.

Perrin will join Starcom on June 10.

Starcom’s CEO Chris Nolan said the agency was happy to have a leader with “such a great reputation” join.

“Annick is a consummate media professional and brings with her more than 20 years of experience, as well as the esteem and regard of her industry peers and clients. She will be an invaluable addition to the team,” Nolan said.

IPG Mediabrands announced Perrin’s plans to leave Initiative Sydney in early April. She first joined Initiative in September 2012.

At the time Mediabrands’ executive chairman Henry Tajer said her departure had been on the cards for awhile and that he wished Perrin “the very best in whatever she chooses as her new direction”.

On joining Starcom Perrin said: "It's not very often in your career that you are able to join such a high calibre agency, Starcom, lead their people and their clients in a world where change is a constant. I can’t wait to start!"
