Out of home shook off a slump at the end of 2012 to record nearly 4% growth in the first quarter of 2013, taking $4.5m more dollars than the same time last year.
Charmaine Moldrich, CEO of the Outdoor Media Association, hailed the growth, saying it shows the “industry’s ability to weather the vagaries of the market”.
Roadside billboards were the biggest earners, raking in $44.9m, with other roadside furniture hot on its heels at $42.1m, transport accounting for $19.4m and retail $15.6m.
