Melbourne's AJF wins cancer pitch

Independent agency AJF Partnership has been named creative partner to national bowel cancer awareness charity, The Jodi Lee Foundation, following a competitive pitch process.

The Foundation was awarded a $2.5m Federal Government grant to lead a national awareness campaign for the disease that is Australia’s second largest cause of cancer-related deaths.

The charity, which was established by Nick Lee who lost his wife (pictured) to bowel cancer in 2010, aims to raise awareness of the cancer and the importance of regular screening to enable early detection.

Lee, CEO of the Foundation, said: “There is a surprising lack of awareness surrounding bowel cancer, especially considering its prevalence and high curable rate, if detected early, and we’re keen to fill this gap and reduce the number of incidents.”

“AJF Partnership boast an impressive portfolio, including clients within the health and not-for-profit sectors. We were particularly attracted to their strategic approach to developing creative campaigns with the cut through required to inspire action.

“We’re looking forward to working with AJF Partnership on this campaign to ensure bowel cancer receives the focus and attention it deserves.”

The eight year old agency now boasts 85 staff in Melbourne and a client list that includes Holden, Officeworks, Lion, the University of Melbourne and more.

Andrew Foote, founding partner of the agency, said the team is honoured to work on the campaign.

"Nick's is an inspirational story. He and his team have already raised over $1.2 million to tackle bowel cancer, and the awarding of federal funding speaks volumes for their commitment and dedication.”
