Magazines Publishers of Australia (MPA) has appointed Mary Ann Azer (pictured) as its new executive director who will report for chairman, Matthew Stanton.
Azer will take up the role that was previously held by Robin Parkes.
Parkes resigned from the MPA earlier this year.
“Mary Ann’s appointment signifies the continuing commitment of the MPA to the ongoing revitalisation and promotion of the magazine publishing industry,” Stanton said.
“On behalf of the executive and members, we look forward to working with Mary Ann to further enhance the groundwork that has already been laid for developing a stronger market presence of the MPA.
“Mary Ann’s skills are ideal to take MPA to the next level and communicate our collective message about the innovative and robust state of the Australian magazine publishing industry.”
Azer added: “Magazines are innovative multi-platform brands that communicate with loyal audiences across print, digital, mobile and social media. Readers have a special and trusted relationship with their favourite magazine brands and it is important for the MPA to communicate the unique benefits of these relationships to both our advertisers and consumers.”
