It’s time to swap briefs for boxing gloves as MAD Week unveils the latest event in its line-up, Pitch2Punch.
After an intensive 12-week training program 20 plucky pugilists from across the industry will step into the ring in front of a packed audience of friends, colleagues, and family, to do battle in the name of charity.
Whether you are a creative, media planner, marketer or digital guru you can enter to receive intensive one-on-one and group training from masters heavyweight silver medallist Jonathan Dooner, with all safety equipment included in the program.
Promoter, Gareth Eden-Styche from Shambles Communications said: “The feeling you get as you walk into the ring with your entrance music playing and the crowd cheering is truly unique.
“As the audience lights dim, it’s just you and your new skills. The sense of personal achievement will live with you long after the final bell and it won’t go unnoticed from the hundreds of industry colleagues and peers who have come to cheer you on.”
All proceeds from the event are going to charity BeyondBlue, which helps fight depression, anxiety and related disorders in Australia.
Eden-Styche added: “To top it off, when it’s all over, you will have some excellent photos to show your mum.”
The gala night will be held on July 17 in Sydney, as part of the MAD Week festival, with training starting in just two weeks.
