A particularly grim week of ratings for Ten’s Wake Up has led to fresh speculation regarding the possible axing of the morning show, with rumours circulating that Kerri Anne Kennerley will make a breakfast TV comeback as host of a revamped Good Morning Australia in its place.
When contacted by B&T Ten did not comment on the speculation.
Kerri-Anne Kennerley is reportedly not signed with any station so is available for the job.
When contacted late last week Kennerley told the Mail Online she had heard the rumours but there was no confirmed plans as of yet.
The future of Wake Up has been looking bleak since the dumping of Natasha Exelby, poor ratings and the departure of executive producer Adam Boland.
Wake Up continues to struggle following Boland’s departure with last week seeing the breakfast player averaging 30,000 viewers per day compared to Nine’s Today on 299,000 and market-leader Sunrise 373,000.
