Sydney –27 February 2014: “Following major business wins and additional work from existing clients, The Works has added to its creative firepower with the appointment of Andy Pilkington.

Andy joins The Works at time of significant growth at the agency as its Creatives on the Forefront model – where creative thinkers work directly with clients – continues to gain traction with senior marketers looking for effective and less wasteful communications.

Pilkington has worked at number of Australian advertising agencies, most recently as ECD at STW-owned Moon CommunicationsGroup. Prior to that he was at 303Lowe and was head of ideas at Naked. In 2010 he sold his boutique creative agency Vox to marketing services group Photon (now Enero) after five years of operation. He arrived from his native UK in2001 and set up Publicis Mojo’s integrated offering as creative director. During his career has worked on brands including Nescafe, Breville, X-Box, NRMA, Weight Watchers and GSK.

In the past six months The Works has pitched for and won a host of new accounts including NRMA Group and Tetley in addition to some yet to be announced wins.

Pilkington will provide his creative input across The Works’ growing client list and will help oversee the strong new business pipeline. He joins the senior creative talent at The Works, which also includes creative partners Damian Pincus, Kevin Macmillan, Douglas Nicol and Paul Swann.

Pincus, who is also co-founder of The Works said: “We’ve had a strong run of new business and organic growth of late and as a result have added to the depth of our existing creative team with the appointment of Andy to the team. He has a solid pedigree and is a perfect fit for our Creatives on the Forefront model, which clients are attracted to as they strive for consistent creative leadership in order to effectively grow their businesses.”

Pilkington said: “The Works is firing right now, taking on some of the most well-known agencies in the country and winning. They’ve got expertise in so many areas, which means there’s no fear in getting great ideas into market. There’s a challenger vibe in the agency which I’m looking forward to being a part of.””
