Match Media sails with Viking Cruises

Independent media agency Match Media is set to hit the rivers and seas with new client Viking Cruises Australia.

Match Media has been appointed to handle all media requirements for the river cruise company which is set to launch a premium ocean cruise service in 2015.

Match will be looking after all media strategy, planning and buying for the company’s multi-million dollar campaign which is set to kick off in March.

James Simmons, director of Match Media, said: “Viking are a great global brand in the cruising category, our role is to translate their No.1 global position to Australia.  It will be a great challenge, and one the whole team is looking forward to.”

Teresia Fors, Viking Cruises managing director in Australia, added: “As Viking are focused on Australia and plan to be aggressive in shifting the brand in this market, we wanted a media partner that understood that need.  Match have shown great passion for the business and provided a channel mix that is focused and digitally centric and will break category norms.”

Match has also recently picked up General Pants, NRM Motoring Services digital and Anytime Fitness.

Viking Cruises currently has a fleet of river cruise vessels in the rivers of Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Chine, Southeast Asia and Egypt.
