John Singleton lashes out at “idiot” Fairfax CEO and “prick” chairman

Outspoken advertising veteran John Singleton has taken to 2GB’s Alan Jones breakfast program to lash out at Fairfax, labelling its CEO Greg Hywood “an idiot” and “third rater”.

Singleton branded Hywood a “third rater” and said “he is obviously an idiot”.

He also launched an attack on Fairfax chairman Roger Corbett describing him as a “precocious, pretentious, prick”.

The comments were broadcast on the  Macquarie Radio Network station this morning in response to a Fairfax newspaper report on a proposed joint venture between MRN and Fairfax Radio.

The report claimed the proposed joint venture between Fairfax’s 2UE and 2GB had been “stymied” by MRN’s star 2GB talent Jones and Ray Hadley.

Jones described the report as an “utter lie” and said “I have stymied no radio merger plans, I have never been asked and it has never been discussed with me”.
