Thursday TV Wrap: Seven’s Wife Swap Debut Flops, As Tennis Continues To Climb

The ABC Saw another night of solid viewership, but though Seven News won the night, wife swap Australia launched to less than 400,000 viewers.

Seven News took out first and third spot with 899, 000. While The Chase and Home And Away performed reasonably well for Seven (461,000 viewers and 442,000 viewers), the premier of Wife Swap Australia only saw 346,000.

The tennis was the best performing show other than the news, though viewership dipped to 633,000  despite Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis’s four and a half hour nail-biter against Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Alex de Minaur’s win.

Nine News was second overall with 892,000 viewers, followed by Nine News At 6.30 at 845,000. ABC News rounded out the top five with 688,000.

It was another good night for the ABC, with three programs in the top ten most-watched. 7.30 and Back Roads both performed well, seeing 522,000 and 454,000 respectively.

Disappointingly for Channel 10, they again failed to crack the top 10. Its highest performing program was The Project with 407,000 viewers, followed by 10 News First with 340,000 and Ambulance Australia RPT with 268,000.

Nine’s other tennis coverage slipped from yesterday with night session two receiving 463,000 viewers, the night pre-match 442, 000 and the day session 318,000.

SBS’s most successful program was The World’s Greatest Palaces at 202,000 viewers.
