Amazon In Hot Water For Selling “Black Lives Don’t Matter” Caps

Amazon has faced severe backlash for the oversight of allowing caps with the slogan ‘Black Lives Don’t Matter’ to be sold on its Marketplace platform.

The racist caps were brought to the attention of the global online marketplace after a someone in the UK Tweeted about them.

The product, which was sold by a third party and advertised as a ‘nice present’, has since been removed from the website.

Alexandra Wilson from Essex was the woman who first noticed the racist product, and told the Indepedent it was “embarrasing” it was being sold, while she questioned if Amazon Marketplace had any system to check what products were being sold on its platform.

It comes a week after the reatiler faced backlash for selling T-shirts that read ‘Let’s Make Down Syndrome Extinct’.

Amazon said in a statement: “All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action including potential removal of their account. The product in question is no longer available.”
