Sunita Gloster Appointed As UN Women AU Advisor & Joins Accenture In Senior Advisor Role

UN Women Australia President Debra Eckersley has confirmed the appointment of Sunita Gloster as an Advisor to UN Women Australia.

UN Women Australia is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls worldwide.

It works hand in hand with community leaders, Government and the business community to play its part in accelerating gender equality as central to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Eckersley said on Gloster’s appointment: “The impact of COVID-19 on women and girls is very concerning. The pandemic is rapidly unravelling the limited, but precious progress the world had made toward gender equality in the past few decades.  Together with Executive Director, Janelle Weissman, we are delighted to have Sunita on board to help shape and amplify this important work, our programs and message as we navigate today’s challenges.”

Weissman added: “Sunita is one of the marketing industry’s respected and influential leaders and has been at the forefront of the challenges and the changing landscape for brands and business. She has been recognised for her prowess in the UK, across Europe and Australia. Importantly, she is passionate about making a difference and being a catalyst for action. I’m looking forward to adding her energy and expertise to our efforts.”

Meanwhile, Gloster has also join Accenture Australia – separate to Accenture Interactive – as a senior advisor in the firm’s Communications, Media and Technology (CMT) Practice.

She recently departed WPP, where she held the role of chief customer officer for 15 months.
