TorchMedia Wins Advertising Rights For Sydney Metro North West

Northwest Rapid Transit (NRT) has awarded the advertising rights for the Sydney Metro North West transit assets including station and on-train precincts to TorchMedia following a competitive tender.

The exclusive contract allows TorchMedia to offer purpose-built advertising opportunities within the Metro North West stations and within all 22 Metro trains running on the newly built Metro line between Chatswood to Tallawong.

Sydney Metro is Australia’s first driverless railway system and the latest in public transport innovation in Sydney, which has facilitated a total 20 million passenger journeys since its official opening in May 2019.

Kirsty Dollisson, Managing Director, TorchMedia said, “The Sydney Metro is a world-class transit project. We are excited to work with NRT to create effective advertising opportunities for brands. The network opens up the extremely sought-after Northwest corridor that has previously had limited Out-of-Home opportunities for advertisers.”

The Sydney Metro North West advertising rollout includes both Static and Digital Transit opportunities for advertisers, with the first static campaign for property developer Mayrin Group going live in June. The purpose-built digital network is expected to launch in 2021.

Steve Herman, CEO, NRT said “Sydney Metro Northwest is the first stage of Sydney’s Rail Future. Collaboration with dedicated Transit-focused specialists like TorchMedia completely aligns with standards set by this visionary project and will deliver information and engaging opportunities for both Sydney Metro customers and brands alike.”

Kirsty Dollisson concluded “We are thrilled to continue to grow our transit portfolio with Australia’s biggest and most innovative public transport project. The impact that the Metro North West Line has had for the residents, students and employees travelling in the North Western growth suburbs of Sydney is significant. As we continue to see positive signs of economic and audience growth post-CV19, we’re excited by the prospect of connecting advertisers to these previously harder to reach audiences through new and innovative Transit solutions.”

This significant win for TorchMedia reaffirms their position as leading Transit Out-of-Home specialists, with their total Transit portfolio able to impact up to 64 million passenger journeys per month across the Eastern Seaboard.

Much of the dragging has come from Google having to […]
