Wednesday TV Wrap: Utopia Returns A Winner For The ABC

The ABC’s comedy Utopia returned last night to an impressive 711,000 viewers according to OzTAM numbers. It was the broadcaster’s top show of the night and the seventh most watched show of Wednesday.

Once again, The Block (803,000) gave Nine a Wednesday night win, it had 26.7 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Seven was close behind with 25.9 per cent, 10 stole third and 19.7 per cent, the ABC had 19.3 per cent and SBS managed 8.4 per cent.

Still at the ABC, Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell did well with 683,0000 and boasted more viewers than its 7pm news (632,000). Meanwhile, Hard Quiz (641,000) isn’t doing as well as it did last year.

Over at 10, The Bachelor pulled 653,000, The Project had 440,000, My Life Is Murder did 382,000 and 10 News First pulled 372,000.

For Seven, its best was its 6pm news (1.029 million), followed by The Celebrity Chase (628,000), Home And Away (651,000) and The Chase (594,000).

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (268,000) knocked over Today (209,000).

Best for Nine was its 6pm news (838,000), The Block (803,000), ACA (777,000) and Hot Seat (450,000).

SBS’ highlight was Untold Australia with 229,000.
