CHE Proximity Wins Media For 2020’s ICC T20 World Cup

The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 has announced two agency appointments including CHE Proximity for media strategy and buying services and Rosterfy for its volunteer management system.

In 2020, Australia will host two ICC T20 World Cups, with the women’s and men’s tournaments to be played as standalone events across Australia. Both events will culminate in finals at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and present an opportunity to set a new world record for the highest attendance at a women’s sporting fixture on Sunday 8 March 2020, which is International Women’s Day.

ICC T20 World Cup Australia 2020 local organising committee CEO Nick Hockley said: “We are delighted to be working with CHE Proximity and Rosterfy, with both organisations presenting really impressive and innovative services befitting a major global event.

“The discussion at SportAccord has focussed on how data and analytics can elevate the fan experience. ICC T20 World Cup 2020 is proud to be working with world class event cities, venues, partners and suppliers to ensure that both the women’s and men’s events are at the forefront of innovation in global sport and entertainment.

“I would like to thank and congratulate SportAccord and the Queensland Government for bringing leading people and organisations from the global sports and entertainment industry to Australia, in what has been a timely learning experience for the T20 World Cup as we prepare to welcome the world to Australia next year,” Hockley said.

CHE Proximity CEO Chris Howatson added: “The standalone tournament structure of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 will have a profound influence on the progress of not only T20 and cricket, but gender equality in Australia and across the world. The Local Organising Committee represents the very best in their fields, and their ambition for this tournament to be a spectacular celebration to set the benchmark for all other global events is inspiring. It’s with exceptional pride that we are involved and can contribute to its success.”
