MAFS Stage Show Canned Because Contestants Didn’t Ask Nine’s Permission

MAFS stage show Still Looking for Love has officially been axed and believe it or not, it’s not because it couldn’t sell any tickets.

Ticket-holders received the unfortunate news of the show’s cancellation a few days ago, but it’s only recently come to light why it got the can.

The show, which was going to feature MAFS contestants Melissa, Mick, Cyrell and Ning was cancelled due to the fact the stars didn’t ask Nine’s permission to run it.

Channel Nine released the following statement regarding the tour: “The event was unauthorised and at no point did the organisers consult Nine nor seek Nine’s permission as would have been required to stage such an event. Nine did not cancel the event, but Nine will take action as necessary to protect the Married At First Sight brand and its rights.”

Touring Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney this month, the contestants were going to reveal: “what else happened when the cameras were on, and just as importantly, when they were off.”

The press release said: “How do they really feel about Jessika and Ines?”

“Will Jules and Cam really live happily ever after? Most importantly of all — what comes next now the cameras have stopped rolling?”

A few days ago, however, ticket-holders received an email informing them the show had been cancelled.

The email read: “DRW, the promoter of MARRIED…LOOKING FOR LOVE? has regretfully advised that this event been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

“Customers who purchased online or via phone will be automatically refunded back to the credit card used for the purchase (including ticket insurance, if relevant).”
