TAL Launches Skin Safety Campaign Via The Haus Agencies Illuminate + Banter

The Haus agencies, Illuminate and Banter, have joined forces to support one of Australia’s leading life insurance specialists, TAL.

The agencies are kicking off a national series of pop-up clinics providing free professional skin checks at some of Australia’s most iconic beaches across the summer.

The activation launched at Bondi Beach for the first weekend of summer, marking the third year of the initiative including an initial pilot program.

TAL general manager of brand Antony Wilson said: “TAL is always looking for new ways to protect this Australian life, and helping Australians understand and embrace skin safety is one of them.

“Last year, TAL SpotChecker provided 1,330 people with professional skin checks across Australia and more than half of those had never had a skin check before.

“Early detection can literally save a life, so this year we’re calling on the 1 in 3 Australians who have had a skin check in the last year to encourage two friends to do the same.”

Born out of TAL’s annual internal ‘Innovation Challenge’, which seeks to promote innovation thinking across the business, TAL SpotChecker is a part of TAL’s broader health focus aimed at empowering all Australians to take a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing.

Banter partner and co-founder Paul Den said: “So often brands want to be meaningful but end up simply just talking about it rather than taking action.

“It’s refreshing to partner with TAL to provide genuine utility to the nation where we can make a difference by spreading the message around the importance of prevention and protection.”

Illuminate general manager Brannon Valmadre said: “We’re passionate about helping TAL tackle one of the most important topics in Australian life.

“The alarming stats show that more awareness and education is needed to drive action, and we’re proud to be supporting TAL in achieving that through an integrated PR and social content campaign across the summer.”

Following the Bondi Beach launch, TAL SpotChecker will now head to Surfer’s Paradise on the Gold Coast (8-9 December 2018), and then across to Cottesloe Beach in Perth (12-13 January 2019), followed by Harold and Cynthia Anderson Reserve in Adelaide (19-20 January 2019) and St Kilda Beach in Melbourne (26-27 January 2019).
