Burger King Spoofs AI In Wonderfully Oddball Spots

Burger King Spoofs AI In Wonderfully Oddball Spots

Artificial Intelligence might be about to revolutionise the world and put us all out of jobs, but those witty wags over at Burger King aren’t buying it.

The burger chain in the US has just unveiled two new spots for its Whopper burger and chicken sandwich that it claims were made by AI.

But as the bumbling, techy voiceover quickly reveals it’s all a witty spoof, parodying algorithms and delivering wonderful lines such as “the Whopper lives in a bun mansion – just like you” and “Burger King logo’s chicken is the new potato.”

The spots are the work of creative agency David Miami, while Burger King’s global head of brand marketing, Marcelo Pascoa, said of the campaign: “But we need to avoid getting lost in the sea of technology innovation and buzzwords and forget what really matters. And that’s the idea. Artificial intelligence is not a substitute for a great creative idea coming from a real person.”
