Wednesday TV Wrap: The Block Gives The ‘Honey Badger’ A Hammering

It’s typically been a tight tussle between The Block and The Bachelor when the two reality shows have gone head-to-head, but there was a clear winner last night as Nine’s reno show put almost 200,000 on the ‘Honey Badger’.

The Block pulled 928,000 while The Bachelor had a surprisingly off night, managing just 721,000.

Nine won Wednesday with 29 per cent of the audience share. Seven was second with 26.4 per cent, Ten managed 20.9 per cent, the trouble-plagued ABC had 17.1 per cent and SBS had 6.6 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news was the most watched show of Wednesday, pulling 991,000. The network’s other standouts were: Home And Away (602,000), Motorbike Cops (550,000), The Chase (545,000), 9-1-1 (425,000) and Highway Patrol (394,000).

Nine’s 6pm news pulled in 934,000 and ACA had 799,000. Hot Seat did 492,000 and Bite Club had 435,000.

The Bachie aside, Ten’s other standouts were The Project with 468,000 and new Aussie drama Playing For Keeps with 465,000.

The ABC’s evening ran this way: 7pm news (750,000), Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (674,000), Hard Quiz (649,000), 7.30 (578,000) and Back In Very Small Business (296,000).

It was trains again at SBS. A repeat of Great British Railway Journeys chugging along to 269,000.
