Sunday TV Wrap: The Voice Finale Fails To Hit The Magic Million Mark

Last night’s The Voice finale pulled in 987,000 viewers, making it the least watched grand final in the show’s seven year history.

However, due to the fact it was a live telecast the numbers are interim and, Nine predicts, will be closer to 1.06 million.

Still, it was enough to win the night for Nine who boasted 31.8 per cent audience share. Seven could feel a little hard done by, coming a close second with 30.7 per cent.

Ten took the bronze with 17.3 per cent, the ABC had 14 per cent and SBS pulled in 6.3 per cent.

The Voice was the most watched of Sunday night’s reality TV shows, seeing off MasterChef (813,000) and an impressive outing by House Rules (910,000).

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin blagged bragging rights over Nine, winning 1.25 million to 1.11 million, respectively. Sunday Night (614,000) also saw off 60 Minutes (524,000).

MasterChef aside, Ten’s other standout was The Sunday Project which, with 450,000 viewers, didn’t really prove much of a standout.

The ABC’s night went thus: ABC News (708,000), Mystery Road (604,000), Grand Designs New Zealand (506,000), Back in Time For Dinner (241,000) and Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery (118,000).

For SBS, its best was Sinkholes: Deadly Drops with 299,000. While the Germany versus Mexico World Cup match had a mere 35,000.
