Fairfax Media Appoints Head of Finance & Banking

Fairfax Media has appointed Anthony Dumont to oversee advertising from the Finance and Banking vertical within Australian Metro Publishing (AMP) business.

Dumont’s remit includes The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age , The Australian Financial Review, the Brisbane Times, and WAtoday.

In late 2017, the commercial teams were reshaped with a vertical focus under the pillars of business and government, comprising finance, retail, government, energy and resources, tech and telco, and luxury and lifestyle (encompassing travel, auto, food and entertainment, luxury, and sport and wagering.

Dumont joins the important finance division where he will oversee Fairfax Media’s financial and banking vertical.

He brings to Fairfax extensive experience in the sector including more than a decade in marketing roles for Mastercard across Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to that, he held a number of positions agency-side.

Fairfax Media’s national head of business and government, Chris Nardi, said, “We’re thrilled to have Anthony joining the team given his deep knowledge and senior experience within the financial sector.

“He will be vital in bringing extra focus to this very important area of our business.”

This appointment comes after the additions of Philippa Walker and Oliver Peagam to the commercial team.

Walker and Peagam head up the travel and automotive verticals respectively.

Matt Rowley, chief revenue officer at Fairfax, added, “Our vertically aligned structure is built upon the goal to understand and meet the specific needs of clients and is already showing strong results.

“Anthony is another great example of a leader in our organisation who has lived and breathed our customers’ challenges.”
