Fifty Acres Extends Operations In Canberra

For-good communications agency Fifty Acres has extended its virtually run operations, launching its first new physical office on the doorstep of Parliament House in Canberra.

Fifty Acres founder and Managing Director Jo Scard says launching a boutique functional office in what is one of the Agency’s busiest locations makes sense.

“We are coming and going from Parliament House so much,” she said.  “Having a base nearby is going to help us and our clients a lot.”

The new office location in Barton gives Fifty Acres a front-row seat to the goings on in politics, as well as access to nearby departments, agencies, peak bodies, and associations, which are often pivotal in its dealings on behalf of clients in the not-for-profit space.

The office will feature shared meeting spaces and back-office support facilities for Fifty Acres’ team of strategic communications, engagement and PR professionals.

“We don’t often all work in the same city,” Scard said. “Now when we’re in Canberra, we’ll have a place of our own.”

The investment builds on a busy year for Fifty Acres, including recent hires to bolster its media team to support new business in health, technology and renewables.

It also coincides with Scard being nominated for B&T’s Women in Media Power List.

“That’s been a thrill for me – to be recognised among industry peers who are all making a difference in the industry,” she said.
