‘Smart Condom’ Collects Wearer’s Data To Tell If You’re Hot In The Sack Or Not

‘Smart Condom’ Collects Wearer’s Data To Tell If You’re Hot In The Sack Or Not

[B&T warns this article deals with material of an adult nature] Data might be the modern-day marketer’s mantra of choice at the moment, however, a new ‘smart condom’ that tells a wearer whether he’s good in bed and can detect if someone has an STI might be pushing the whole data concept a little too far.

The i.Con Smart Condom is the brainchild of UK firm British Condoms and is designed to collect the most intimate details of any man brave enough to wear it.

The i.Con can apparently tell you if you make a good lover, how many calories you burnt during a love-making session, the speed of the wearer’s thrusts, the size of his genitals, how long he lasted, how many positions he got himself and his partner(s) into and then send all the data back to a designated smartphone.

According to reports, the i.Con is a small band that fixes to the base of the wearer’s penis. It actually offers no protection and a normal condom still needs to be fitted. It even has lights in it if so required.

However, the i.Con doesn’t come cheap and will reportedly retail for £59.99 ($A107) when its released to the UK market at Christmas time. It’s still undergoing testing, apparently.

Adam Leverson, lead engineer on the i.Con project, said: “Not only have we innovated the world’s first smart condom ring – that’ll measure pretty much every aspect of performance in the bedroom – but now I’m pleased to confirm that it will also have built-in indicators to alert the users to any potential STIs present.”

Aaron Slater, spokesperson for British Condoms, added: “We knew we were on the cusp of creating something special with i.Con, and bringing a new meaning to ‘wearable tech’ – but being advocates of safe sex, we wanted something more, and the addition of an STI indicator has certainly done that.

“With over 96,000 pre-registrations for the product, we know that this is a complete game-changer,” he said.
