Seven’s Tim Worner Forgoes $500K Bonus, As Amber’s GoFundMe Campaign Hits $5,800

Seven’s Tim Worner Forgoes $500K Bonus, As Amber’s GoFundMe Campaign Hits $5,800

Following the release of Seven’s full-year results yesterday, it has been revealed that the company’s CEO, Tim Worner, has missed out on his annual bonus reported to be shy of the $500,000-mark.

The news comes on the same day as Worner’s former lover, Amber Harrison, unveiled a GoFundMe campaign to raise $200,000 to pay her legal bills. As of noon today, the campaign had raised $5788 with 162 people contributing.

Speaking at the announcement of yesterday’s results – that saw the broadcaster announce a net loss of $745 million for the 12 months to June 30th – Worner admitted it was wrong to pay himself a bonus considering the current state of the business.

Any bonus would have also been considered poor form considering the massive media attention given to Worner and his former mistress, Amber Harrison, over the past eight months.

Worner will receive his annual salary of $2.74 million salary for 2017, but the package would’ve reportedly topped $3.19 million with the bonus.

Yesterday, Worner said, “I didn’t ask to be considered for a bonus” as it “hasn’t been a stellar year for the company and as such I didn’t ask to be considered for a bonus.”

In 2014, Worner had to personally pay Harrison $100,000 of his own money as part of her termination package once the couple’s affair became known to the Seven board.

Adding to that, it has been reported in the media the cost to Seven to fight Harrison in the NSW Supreme Court had topped the $1 million-mark in lawyer’s fees and QCs.
