Waleed Aly And ‘The Project’ The Bookies’ Logies Favourites

Waleed Aly And ‘The Project’ The Bookies’ Logies Favourites

Following a report on B&T this morning that suggested The Project’s Waleed Aly didn’t deserve to be nominated for a another Gold Logie because of the show’s weak ratings, comes news that he’s actually the favourite to take the prize according to bookmakers.

Odds just released by online betting agency Sports Bet has Aly at $2.20 to go back-to-back Golds when the winners are announced on the 23rd of April. While The Project is a $1.15 favourite in the “best news” category.

Aly also looks a deadset cert for the “best presenter” category at $1.25.

“Punters are very keen for Waleed to go back-to-back but (Molly’s) Samuel Johnson is not out of the running,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.

It could also be big night for the star of Nine’s Love Child, Jessica Marias, who’s at $4.50 to win the Gold Logie and an unbackable $1.40 in the “best actress” category.

According to Sports Bet, Nine’s NRL Footy Show is the unbackable favourite for the night at $1.10 for best “sports program”. The next best in that category is the AFL version at $6. Check out Sport Bet’s full Logies odds below.
